We collect only what is necessary to verify tutors and connect them with students, and we keep proof that a check happened rather than the raw evidence forever.
What we collect
For tutors: application details (name, contact, subjects, claims), verification evidence you submit (e.g. identity and qualification documents), reference details, and the result of each verification check.
For students/visitors: account email, the messages you send through the platform, and basic technical logs.
Legal basis (GDPR Article 6)
We process tutor data to perform our verification contract with you and on the basis of your consent for contacting references and starting verification. We process student data to provide the messaging service.
Sensitive and criminal-record data
Where country-specific child-safety documentation is reviewed, we apply heightened caution consistent with GDPR Article 10. We generally store only the document type, issuing country, dates, check level, the admin decision, and the reviewer — not a copy of the document.
Retention
Raw identity and credential documents are stored temporarily in a private store during review and deleted after the decision plus a short dispute window. We retain durable verification results and metadata while a profile is active.
Reference responses are stored as a structured outcome and a short summary, not unnecessary free text.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent. Contact us via the Contact page to exercise these rights.
International transfers
Because we operate internationally, your data may be processed outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards. This section is subject to legal review.
